Terms & Conditions (The Startup Morning Club)

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of The Startup Morning Club website and your participation in our events and sessions (including activities held at our Serangoon venue).

By accessing our website, registering, or attending an event, you agree to these Terms.

1) About The Startup Morning Club

The Startup Morning Club is a community that runs in-person sessions that may include:

  • Social pickleball

  • Founder sharing sessions (e.g., hotseats, lightning pitches)

  • Mentorship, networking, and introductions

  • Business idea discussions and learning

No membership fees: The Startup Morning Club is free to join. You only pay entry fees when you attend events.

2) Eligibility

You must be able to participate safely in light-to-moderate physical activity and comply with venue rules and staff instructions. If you are registering on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to do so.

3) Registration & Entry Fees

  • Event attendance may require registration and payment of an entry fee.

  • Your spot is confirmed only when registration is accepted and, where applicable, payment is received.

  • We may limit slots to maintain a quality experience.

4) Cancellations, Transfers & Refunds

  • No cancellations: Once a booking is confirmed, cancellations are not allowed.

  • No refunds/credits: Entry fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable to another date/event, unless we cancel the event.

  • Transfer your spot: If you can’t attend, you may give your spot to another person at no extra charge, provided that:

    • you notify us at least 24 hours before the session starts, and

    • you provide the replacement attendee’s full name and contact number/email, and

    • the replacement attendee agrees to these Terms and meets any event requirements.

  • If we cancel: If we cancel an event, we will offer a reschedule option or refund for the affected event entry fee.

5) Code of Conduct

We aim to build a respectful, high-trust community. By attending, you agree to:

  • Be respectful and inclusive

  • No harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behaviour

  • No aggressive sales, spam, or disruptive pitching

  • Follow staff instructions and venue rules

We may refuse entry or remove anyone who breaches these standards, without refund where reasonable.

6) Mentorship, Advice & Funding

  • Any mentoring, feedback, introductions, or ideas shared are provided for general discussion and do not constitute professional advice (legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, etc.).

  • Funding is not guaranteed. Any funding discussions are at our sole discretion and may be subject to separate terms.

7) Assumption of Risk (Pickleball & Physical Activity)

Participation in sports activities carries inherent risks (including injury). By attending, you:

  • Confirm you are fit to participate (or will modify participation as needed)

  • Voluntarily assume all risks of participation

  • Agree to follow safety guidance, warm-up recommendations, and staff instructions

If you feel unwell or unsafe, stop immediately and inform staff.

8) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or event participation.

  • Our total liability (if any) will not exceed the entry fee you paid for the specific event in question.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9) Personal Belongings

You are responsible for your own belongings. We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

10) Photos & Videos

We may take photos/videos during events for marketing and community purposes (e.g., social media, website).

  • If you prefer not to be filmed/photographed, please inform our team on-site before the session.

  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate opt-outs.

11) Privacy

We collect and use personal data (e.g., name, contact details, registration info) to manage registrations, operations, and communications, in accordance with Singapore’s PDPA and our Privacy Policy (if published). We do not sell your personal data.

12) Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, and materials provided by us remain our property unless stated otherwise. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.

13) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes will be handled in Singapore courts.
